GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS (HOST): Jon Karl, a lot of news yesterday in the presidential race. Not just that speech and the protests, you also have Donald Trump and the issue of Trump University making a new attack on the judge in that case in California saying he has an absolute conflict of interest because of his Mexican heritage. Pretty extraordinary statement.

JON KARL: It sure is. Trump has gone after this judge before. He has mocked his name. He has mentioned that he is Hispanic. But in this interview with The Wall Street Journal, he goes further citing the judge's, quote, “Mexican heritage” and said “I'm building a wall. It's an inherent conflict of interest.” An extraordinary statement. By the way, Judge Curiel is and always has been an American. He was born in Indiana. His parents were Mexican immigrants. And Trump is saying here, explicitly, that because of that fact, he is unable to judge this case. Really an extraordinary statement.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So by that standard, no one of Mexican heritage could judge Donald Trump fairly?

KARL: That is precisely what he is saying in this interview.
