Twitter Reporting Still Quickest, But Not Always Correct

Here's another example of Twitter beating the straight news reporting approach.

Hannah Allam, McClatchy's crack Middle East reporter currently in Baghdad, first reported on the shootings earlier today in Baghdad that killed more than a dozen at about 8 a.m. EDT via Twitter.

Her Tweet: “Gunmen lay siege to Baghdad shopping district in midday raid, kill a bunch of goldsmiths and shoppers, make off with loot. 15 dead so far.”

Later on, her full report on the McClatchy website, much more concise of course, detailed the event. It corrected the dead to 14, however, perhaps showing quick is not always right.
