Tucker Carlson gives warm welcome to Michael Flynn, who recently called for a military coup to overturn the 2020 election

They discussed Steve Bannon's indictment and more

After the announcement that former Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon had been indicted on two counts of contempt of Congress, Fox News host Tucker Carlson turned to disgraced former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Flynn joined the Fox host in claiming that legal proceedings emerging from the January 6 insurrection are part of a coordinated attack on conservative thought. Carlson and Flynn accused the Biden administration of weaponizing the Justice Department and “punishing critics of the Democratic Party.” They went on to tell viewers that the January 6 commission is conducting an attack on free speech and attempting to criminalize “opinions.”

Flynn, who received a pardon from President Donald Trump in 2020 after lying to FBI investigators during the Russia probe, had previously called for Trump to invoke martial law in order to overturn the 2020 election. And when Flynn told an audience of apparent QAnon supporters that there was no reason the military coup that happened in Myanmar couldn’t happen in the United States, Fox News didn’t cover his statements.

Flynn is one in a string of Tucker Carlson guests with clear links to the QAnon conspiracy theory, having taken a supposed QAnon oath and having sold QAnon merchandise.
