After House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) signed the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress and sent them to the Senate, pro-Trump media figures lashed out at her over her choice of clothing and made bizarre comments about the commemorative pens she used and then handed out. One Fox News anchor even allowed a Republican senator to liken Pelosi to a sorority girl without any objection.

STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): Keep in mind, what was it, when -- in December, when they voted on the articles of impeachment and she was talking how prayerful it was and how somber it was --
AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): She’s like do not smile. People, do not smile.
DOOCY: She was wearing black. And when people started to cheer, she shushed them. Well yesterday, she was wearing pink. And there was giggling, and there was some laughter as well.
Fox host Laura Ingraham mocked Pelosi’s appearance: “Somber in The Power Pink Suit.”
Ingraham also mocked Pelosi for her outfit on air.

LAURA INGRAHAM (HOST): Now, Pelosi is a leader in title only. Yeah, she is the speaker of the House, but I think I'm right, last spring she said impeachment should only be bipartisan. The same speaker who couldn't get one Republican to join her lynch mob. But that didn't stop her today from milking the conveyance of the articles of impeachment for all it was worth.
(VIDEO BEGINS)
SPEAKER NANCY PELOSI (D-CA): The House of Representatives impeached the president of the United States. An impeachment that will last forever. … This is a very serious matter, and we take it to heart in a really solemn way.
(VIDEO ENDS)
INGRAHAM: Impeachment. Oh, that is why she was wearing peach. I couldn't figure the color out today.
Fox Business anchor Dagen McDowell complained Pelosi “seems to be celebrating a little too much” and was “wearing Easter pink.”

DAGEN MCDOWELL (FOX BUSINESS ANCHOR): Pelosi seems to be celebrating a little too much, with her little gold pens with her signature on it. She's wearing Easter pink rather than the solemn black garb that she wore on the day of the impeachment vote. This is going to blow up in their faces if it hasn’t already.
A Fox Business anchor likened Pelosi’s traditional commemorative pens to bullets
Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo wrote in a now-deleted tweet: “These are the pens Nancy pelosi used to sign the articles & she gave them out to colleagues. Wow they look like bullet cases.”
Bartiromo also claimed on air that the pens “look like bullet cases” and incorrectly stated that “the word ‘united’ was spelt wrong” on the pens. In fact, the misspelled word had appeared on the commemorative pens senators used to sign the oath of impeachment when President Bill Clinton was impeached.

MARIA BARTIROMO (ANCHOR): So the day was supposedly so somber, yet Nancy Pelosi, well she was handing out pens to colleagues. And we have a picture of those pens, I want to get your take on this. These pens look like bullet cases. And Washington Examiner is reporting that on the pen, the word “united” was spelt wrong.
And a Fox anchor allowed a Republican senator to liken Pelosi to a sorority girl
Fox anchor Shannon Bream let Republican senator’s comment that Pelosi “looks like she’s at a sorority party handing out beers” pass without reply.

SHANNON BREAM (ANCHOR): I want to take a look at some of the sights and sounds today. There was a signing ceremony, there were a number of pens that had the speaker’s name on them, they were lined up -- and as you do when you sign a bill, I mean, there’s one stroke after another. One pundit said, normally when you do these kinds of things and you’re having a big bill signing, it’s to celebrate something. And they thought maybe the tone was a little bit off here, with people celebrating, you see Congressman Maxine Waters holding up her pen.
…
BREAM: Quickly, what do you make of the optics today?
SEN. JOHN BARRASSO (R-WY): Well, I thought they were disturbing. You know, you look at that and she said this is a sad and serious time, looks like she’s at a sorority party handing out beers. I mean, I thought it was just wrong, but that's the way that Nancy Pelosi has handled this whole process.
