STEVE BANNON (HOST): What people forget is that the McCarthy hearings and the House Un-American Activities were quite productive in turfing out communists, right? KGB communists that were deeply embedded in the State Department and other elements of the government, it should have gone further. If it had gone further, right, we would not have law – although it came after the, the big part of it after we lost China to Mao Zedong and the communists because of infiltration into the State Department. The McCarthy hearings were extremely, extremely helpful, as we now know from the Venona, what is it, documents and tapes, that came out in the 1990s.
