Beck in February, I pointed out that Sean Hannity, Andrew Breitbart, and the rest of the right-wing media had picked up a new ally in their war on Kevin Jennings: The Westboro Baptist Church, which was protesting the Obama education official outside a California high school.

At the time, I said of WBC:

The WBC are no ordinary anti-gay group - they are complete lunatics. The group is best known for protesting funerals of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, claiming that their deaths are inflicted by God to punish the United States for accepting the “sin” of homosexuality, and carrying signs reading “God Hates Fags.” One of their websites - godhatesamerica.com - attributes swine flu, the September 11 terrorist attacks, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Columbia Shuttle crash, the Sago Mine collapse, the Minnesota bridge collapse, the Virginia Tech shooting, and the stock market crash on “God's Wrath.” In short, they claim, “It's the fags, stupid.” WBC has been classified a “general hate” group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Today, WBC continued its anti-Jennings campaign, with a picket outside North Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD, outside of Washington, DC. WBC writes of the protest (emphasis added):

All roads lead to the Supreme Court of the United States. Our next stop on the I-70 GodSmack Tour from WBC to DC is North Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD. We are determined that each place we go, all the children who you adults have lied to, get this message: TWO WORDS define Antichrist Obama's “Education Plan”, to wit: KEVIN JENNINGS, United States Education Czar. This fag has started GSAs and GLSEN Organizations all across DOOMED america. With ZERO CHILDREN of his own, this fag is DETERMINED to sodomize all of the children he and Obama can get their filthy, bloody hands on. Flee these lying false prophets, kids. God hates fags (Romans 1) and their hateful enablers. Jennings/Obama say “screw you buddy” to God in defiance to His plain words. This generation has been raised to care about only one thing: themselves. They follow after their lusts day and night. They are brute animals with no hope. You have left them with no moral compass and now their destruction is imminent. It is too late for you and your rebellious children. We still must do our duty to you and them lest their blood be required at our hands. Eze 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

WBC is spending the rest of the day protesting outside of the White House (“In the White House is the Beast; on unborn babies he loves to feast; soon the world will make him king; great affliction he will bring!”); the Russell Senate Office Building (“Inside you will find 100 braying jackasses; God-haters; panderers; the basest of men (only outdone in baseness by your raping clergy); just the 'leaders' you deserve.”); and Arlington National Cemetery (“the mother lode of dead soldiers for this nation's death watch and worship of rotten dead carcasses”).

Next week, WBC will head to Brooklyn to protest outside three synagogues. Why, to “remind the Jews that a remnant of them will be saved if they turn to their God but that the rest shall be cast into everlasting fire in Hell,” of course! They'll also stop by Hebrew Union College “to remind the students, faculty and staff that this current generation of Jews has been raised to serve the devil himself.”

As I said before, when you look around and find yourself on the same side as these guys, you should consider finding a different side.
