DR. GEORGE FAREED (GUEST): And it's so important that people realize that the current vaccines do not protect against the variants, they evolve in vaccinated patients. And the Omicron variant has come from a vaccinated patient or individuals actually in Botswana, and the Delta came from vaccinated people in New Delhi. And of the other location, I'm not sure where the other location was, but they have to be evolving in the presence of these neutralizing antibodies that were created by the vaccine, which is basically useless in that it it's directed to the original spike protein that we don't see anymore. Initially, it was somewhat protective against the primary variant, but now it doesn't protect. So the Omicron comes out. Other variants will continue to come out as time goes by, and we have to be prepared for them.
