From the October 25 edition of MSNBC's All In with Chris Hayes:
CHRIS HAYES (HOST): For the past few weeks, the conservative media, Republicans on Capitol Hill, and the White House have been working together in an assembly line fashion to build, virtually from nothing, what they are calling, quote, “the real Russia scandal.”
What we are actually talking about is a seven-year-old uranium deal that nine government agencies approved, with zero evidence of wrong-doing by Hillary Clinton.
But if you consume conservative media, as the president does, apparently exclusively, and millions of Republicans do, you live in an alternate universe -- one in which the lying mainstream media ignores the overwhelming evidence that Hillary Clinton sold us all out. As Media Matters detailed, all this started with a Steve Bannon associate named Peter Schweizer, who made the allegations in a much-publicized, error-filled 2015 book attacking Clinton.
Seeking to distract from Trump-Russia allegations, Fox's Sean Hannity seized on Schweizer's unsupported claims, accusing Clinton of colluding with Russia in 25 different monologues.
