Yet Again, Limbaugh Defends His Comments As A “Media Tweak”

Limbaugh began his show today by saying it was “funny as hell” that people were calling for Alan Simpson, co-chair of Obama's deficit commission, to be fired for dismissing Social Security as a “milk cow with 310 million tits.” Rush later said that Simpson was forced to apologize because “the truth is politically incorrect.” After briefly discussing the controversy over the most recent episode of Mad Men, Rush called out Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman for calling for Simpson's firing, and he read from Krugman's column. Rush also briefly mentioned the incident in which a man allegedly stabbed a Muslim cab driver in New York City, saying that “the media thinks” it found its “new Oklahoma City” with this incident.

Rush eventually got to his near-daily covering up for himself, calling his question -- “How can America be Islamophobic? We elected Obama, didn't we?” -- his “media tweak” from yesterday.

Rush spend much of the rest of his show talking about his annual golfing trip to Hawaii, which begins tomorrow, and taking callers for Open Line Friday (on a Thursday!).
