Steyn: “Obamaklutura” Will Allow Elite To “Queue Jump” In Line For Health Care

By Brooke Obie

Mark Steyn filled in for Rush again today, and started the show off with a contest: if you can guess where in the world Rush Limbaugh is searching for a “still viable health care system” on the “other side of the world,” then you can win a guest hosting spot on the show. After mocking Frank Rich's argument that anti-health care reformists are “racists, bigots, and homophobes” who are anti-health care reform because of “Barney Frank's gayness,” Steyn suggested that Ricky Martin coming out as gay would be a “real shot in the arm” for the anti-health care reform movement. He sarcastically stated: “we didn't have all these gay pop stars when everyone was paying for their own damn health care.” Sticking to the topic of health care reform, Steyn mocked a Chinese farmer who reportedly has the largest male breasts in history, using the story to suggest that once health care services are provided by the government, people will want all sorts of operations that they never wanted before because it is on someone else's tab. Steyn also added that the “federalization” of student loans that is in the health care legislation, is really about “making it easier for the government to control what is taught.”

Here are some highlights from the show:

Steyn: Limbaugh is at “an undisclosed location checking out still viable health care systems on the other side of the world”

Steyn mockingly claims Ricky Martin coming out is a “shot in the arm for the anti-health care reform movement”

Steyn: Changes to college loan system affects people who want to “kill eight years doing women's studies”

Steyn: “Federalization” of college loans is about “making it easier for the government to control what is taught”

Steyn: “Sex is a distraction for the left” to use to hide liberties that are being rolled back

Steyn:“Obamaklutura” will allow elite to “queue jump” in line for health care

Steyn: Health care reform will lead to the “grey, drab, empty shells of your average Soviet emporium”

Health care was still the top issue in the last half of the show. Steyn claimed that sex education is a tool the Left uses “as a distraction,” by encouraging Americans to have sex at an earlier age, they will be so caught up in sexual freedom “you won't notice the liberties we're taking away from you.” Steyn also warned that the health care reform legislature was setting up an “Obamaklutura” for the political class, which would allow politicians to “queue jump” in line for health care while the rest of Americans wait in “dirty” waiting rooms with long lines to receive care, which is why politicians were not concerned about the impact the legislation will have on receipt of health care services. He ended by saying the time has flown by faster than sitting in a waiting room for three years waiting on a hip replacement.
