Rush: “Delusional,” “Power-Hungry” Obama Is “Just Weakening Everybody”

By Kate Conway

Before getting into one of his dominant topics today -- nuclear security -- Rush took a moment to declare that it's “block-and-tackle time” for the GOP with regard to “whomever Obama nominates” to the courts. Rush said Obama wants someone who won't follow the Constitution, because he wants someone with empathy -- incidentally, a false dichotomy. Rush then turned to the nuclear summit in Washington, which wrapped up yesterday. Why, Rush asked, are we talking about nukes all of a sudden? Rush called a statement Obama made about the U.S. being a “military superpower” “disgusting” and ridiculed Obama's efforts to control the amount of enriched uranium in the world. Securing nuclear materials “is just weakening everybody,” he said. Rush also had words of praise for Dana Milbank's column on the summit, which he read at length. He agreed with Milbank's conclusions and stated that the media weren't allowed into most of the summit because nothing took place; it was all a PR show. Rush also read from an National Review Online post bashing the nuclear summit and called the comparison it drew between Obama and Roman Emperor Nero “pretty apt” because both supposedly tried to remake their respective societies via destruction.

Rush also called Obama “delusional” and “power-hungry,” claiming that Obama wants to pass a financial reform bill that will give him the power to shut down any American business on a whim. He surmised that Obama wants an all-powerful, centralized government where he can use his lack of experience and his “seven-minute” career to decide what is best for everyone in the country. Rush later amended this claim to suggest that Obama is seeking the power to arbitrarily fire Wall Street executives and declared that Obama is trying to demonize Wall Street so that he can run on a re-election platform of taking down the bankers. He cited a Dick Morris article to support his theories, stating that “this is fascism” and calling reforms a “death penalty” for companies that don't behave as Obama wants them to.

Rush wasn't done with the attacks on Obama: He joined in on the revived “bow-gate” attacks, in which media outlets have recently accused Obama of bowing to Chinese President Hu Jintao. Rush said that Obama “admires the total control and power the Chi-Comms have over their people” and observed that all the people Obama purportedly bows to are “filthy, stinking rich.” Finally, Rush provided a little publicity for the Tea Party movement. Speaking about recent reports that people are being recruited to crash the Tea Parties in order to strip them of legitimacy, Rush speculated that “the White House is in charge of this.” He noted a report that Jason Levin, who runs a website dedicated to recruitment of Tea Party infiltrators, has received threats and suggested that Levin is harassing himself in order to blame the Tea Party.
