Limbaugh Uses Steinbrenner's Death As An Opportunity For Race-Baiting

With the death of legendary New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner today, Limbaugh had what he must have thought was the perfect opportunity to open his show with a little good old-fashioned race-baiting, saying that Steinbrenner -- “that cracker,” as Limbaugh called him -- “made a lot of African-American millionaires.” Limbaugh later stated that Steinbrenner “knew when to die,” because there is currently no estate tax. He went on to read a couple of Washington Post stories about bad news for President Obama and declare that the newspaper needs “a suicide watch” in its newsroom. Eventually, Limbaugh got around to explaining how liberals were just like “Muslim extremists” -- liberals apparently “want to be told how to live,” too.

Later, fueled by a Daily Caller story about how White House adviser David Axelrod said that America would be going “backwards” if Republicans took control of Congress in 2010, Limbaugh ranted about how he would “love” to “go backwards,” back “18 months” -- when the economy was in total free-fall. Limbaugh also took issue with Michelle Obama's comments at the NAACP, later wondering if she was talking to the New Black Panthers.

Limbaugh continued to serve up a heavy dose of race-baiting throughout the day. At one point, he agreed with a caller who said Obama is “enslaving” children to “the NEA plantation that is D.C. Public Schools.” Limbaugh also insinuated that the NAACP is racist.

Here are the highlights from the show:

Rush's race-baiting on Steinbrenner death: “That cracker made a lot of African-American millionaires”

Rush says “something's not right” about Michelle Obama's comments at NAACP because blacks should “be happier than ever”

Rush: “Liberals are like Muslim extremists” because “they want to be told how to live” and also “can't stand freedom”

Rush asks if Michelle Obama was “talking to the New Black Panthers” at NAACP event

Rush agrees with caller that Obama is “enslaving these children back to the NEA plantation that is DC Public schools”

Rush calls it “ironic” that the NAACP would call Tea Party racist
