As Expected, Limbaugh Calls Kagan “Elitist Radical,” “Babe”

By Oliver Willis

Limbaugh began his show by discussing the nomination of Elena Kagan. Limbaugh referred to Kagan as an “elitist radical,” saying that Obama is “picking mirror images of himself.” Limbaugh called Kagan a “babe,” and that supposed elitists like her "have no clue how Americans live." Limbaugh claimed that if Kagan is voted on to the Supreme Court that “the best looking justice will be John Roberts.” Limbaugh said that Kagan's qualifications were a belief that “the Supreme Court is to rewrite the Constitution.” He also chose to inject racial politics into the nomination by saying that “Roland Martin, black guy ... he doesn't like her.” Limbaugh also effectively defended slavery, criticizing Kagan for her citation of former Justice Thurgood Marshall's statement that the original Constitution was “defective” without noting that Marshall was pointing out that it permitted slavery.

Limbaugh complained that the media was still misreporting his comments about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and suggested that BP should have an “oil spill summit.” Tackling the Greek financial crisis, Rush compared Greek citizens protesting the government's upcoming budget cuts to taking candy from a baby, and taking a toy away from a dog. Limbaugh said America's future looked like Greece, and that “As long as liberals are running California, there is a 100 percent chance they will go under. Ditto the United States at large.” Limbaugh's solution was to get rid of liberals and their ideals. Referring to Sen. Robert Bennett's loss in the Utah GOP convention, Limbaugh said it showed the “power of the tea party” and that the coming election would show a “conservative ascendancy.”
