KSFO's Sussman and Benner discuss “frowsy -- frowning, annoyed, downturned” Democratic women and “queen” Barney Frank

Guest-hosting The Lee Rodgers Show, Brian Sussman said: “I'm noticing this -- pictures of Sarah Palin. No getting around it: She's a babe. She really is an attractive woman. And the left loathes her for that.” Sussman later challenged co-host Tom Benner to “show me one liberal, female politician who is a babe.” Benner responded, “Yeah, I can't. I can't do it. I mean, all I think of is a frowsy -- frowning, annoyed, downturned.” Sussman later called Rep. Barney Frank a “queen.”

During the December 15 broadcast of San Francisco radio station KSFO's The Lee Rodgers Show, frequent guest host Brian Sussman said: “I'm noticing this -- pictures of [Gov.] Sarah Palin. No getting around it: She's a babe. She really is an attractive woman. And the left loathes her for that, if nothing else. They're just jealous that they can't produce a liberal woman that's as attractive.” Later in the broadcast, Sussman asked co-host Tom Benner, known on-air as “Officer Vic,” to “show me one liberal politician -- just show me one -- show me one liberal, female politician who is a babe.” After Benner responded, “Yeah, I can't. I can't do it. I mean, all I think of is a frowsy -- frowning, annoyed, downturned,” Sussman interjected, "[Sen.] Barbara Boxer [D-CA]?" He later stated that Boxer's “hair lately is just awful” and that “I have no idea what [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi [D-CA] really looks like. I don't know her prior to her surgery, so I don't know what that looks like. ... [I]f you had the tens of millions she does, you could look like that, too. I mean, you could look just like her. ... Complete with the, you know, the chest work.” Sussman later added: “I'm thinking of another queen: Barney Frank.”

Media Matters for America has also documented instances in which host Lee Rodgers has criticized women in the Democratic Party for their appearance, such as Rodgers' description of “the female leadership of the Democratic Party” as "ugly skanks" and his reference to Sen. Hillary Clinton as “the Hilldebeest."

Additionally, Sussman repeated the discredited claim that President-elect Barack Obama has not produced a valid birth certificate, saying, “Show us the birth certificate, man. Show us the money. It's sealed up in Hawaii? Show it to us. Don't give us this garbage.”

From the December 15 broadcast of KSFO's The Lee Rodgers Show:

SUSSMAN: I'm noticing this -- pictures of Sarah Palin. No getting around it: She's a babe. She really is --

OFFICER VIC: She really is.

SUSSMAN: -- an attractive woman.

OFFICER VIC: She really is.

SUSSMAN: And the left loathes her for that, if nothing else. They're just jealous that they can't produce a liberal woman that's as attractive.

[...]

OFFICER VIC: Well, that's interesting with all those gaffes, you know, that -- and aren't we surprised that the old-time media hasn't picked up on that and run with those gaffes as opposed to the, what, one or two from Sarah Palin, who, incidentally, let's point out, people loved her.

SUSSMAN: I love her.

OFFICER VIC: Huge crowds, every time she showed up. Huge crowds.

SUSSMAN: Even still when she shows up, man, the crowds are gigantic. She energizes the folks, because she's a real conservative.

OFFICER VIC: She's authentic.

SUSSMAN: Yes.

OFFICER VIC: And people are starved for authenticity.

SUSSMAN: And she's also extremely good-looking, and I -- show me one liberal politician -- just show me one -- show me one liberal, female politician who is a babe, please. Just --

OFFICER VIC: Well, no --

SUSSMAN: -- name one. I really want to know. Name one.

OFFICER VIC: Yeah, I can't. I can't do it. I mean, all I think of is a frowsy -- frowning, annoyed, downturned --

SUSSMAN: Barbara Boxer?

OFFICER VIC: Yeah. Yeah.

SUSSMAN: That kind of describes her. And her hair lately is just awful.

OFFICER VIC: Always annoyed.

SUSSMAN: Yeah.

OFFICER VIC: Just, “I never -- God. It's just -- everything's awful. Err.” You know?

SUSSMAN: Hillary? I mean, she -- given, given what she had --

OFFICER VIC: That's shrill. That's just shrill.

SUSSMAN: But given what she -- what nature gave her to work with, she's done well with it.

OFFICER VIC: Yes, she has.

SUSSMAN: I'm very serious. She's done well.

OFFICER VIC: I agree with you.

SUSSMAN: I have no idea what Nancy Pelosi really looks like. I don't know her --

OFFICER VIC: I will tell you --

SUSSMAN: -- prior to her surgery, so I don't know what that looks like.

OFFICER VIC: I think she presents herself well in public. She always looks great. Her hair looks great. She's got the pearls -- the $40,000 string of pearls -- because she represents the little guy.

SUSSMAN: Yeah, but, dude, if you had the tens of millions she does, you could look like that, too. I mean, you could look just like her. In fact, you, you know --

OFFICER VIC: On weekends, sometimes I do.

SUSSMAN: Complete with the, you know, the chest work and --

OFFICER VIC: Yeah.

SUSSMAN: Yeah, uh-huh -- weekends.

OFFICER VIC: You never know. You know, it's slow and, you know, there's nothing on the -- on the cable.

SUSSMAN: I mean, I'm thinking of another queen: Barney Frank.

OFFICER VIC: Oh, God.

SUSSMAN: What's that all about?

OFFICER VIC: “It's another one here. It's Barney Frank.” He's almost Buddy Hackett. “It's Buddy Hackett” --

SUSSMAN: It's true. He's like a cartoon character.

[...]

SUSSMAN: Today, by the way, is the day that the Electoral College meets to officially elect President Barack Obama as -- as our next --

OFFICER VIC: So what if they get cold feet? I mean, wouldn't that be something if they suddenly go, “Uh, no, this isn't -- we're not doing that.”

SUSSMAN: Yeah, like if someone involved with the Electoral College says, “There's just one little issue. We're looking at the Constitution of the United States of America and the requirement is 35 years of age --

OFFICER VIC: Right.

SUSSMAN: -- residing in the United States so many years, and, oh yeah, citizen.” Can we prove the citizenship thing right now please, once and for all? It is amazing, isn't it?

OFFICER VIC: It is. It is, and it's gonna dog him. This will not go away until his birth certificate is published.

SUSSMAN: Show us the birth certificate, man. Show us the money. It's sealed up in Hawaii? Show it to us. Don't give us this garbage.

OFFICER VIC: [inaudible] A certificate of live birth.

SUSSMAN: Which couldn't allow you to play Pop Warner football or Little League baseball. Show us the birth certificate. That's all you have to do. Then you'll get right-wingers like me off your hide. That's all you gotta do, man.
