CARL HIGBIE (HOST): So the fact of the matter is, this guy, by all available information, Keith Ellison, stifled the investigation until it couldn't be kept quiet. And he said, oh, I cooperated with the investigation. No, you did not. Here, this is from the House's own -- Democrat House, their own report said, look at those two middle ones. Minnesota Department of Education received 30 complaints involving Feeding Our Future between June 2018 and December 2021. Minnesota Department of Education did not investigate some complaints about Feeding our Future despite their frequency or serious -- this is from 2018 and only after whistleblowers started going public three years later, and the FBI got involved and the IRS got involved. Only then did Keith Ellison's attorney general's office even lift a single finger, just so they wouldn't look like they're trying to cover it up. This case was entirely, entirely driven by whistleblowers, and then it was prosecuted by U.S. federal attorneys, not local attorneys. So don't sit there and lie through your teeth about how you tried to stop your law -- we didn't like this fraud. But here's the part that should probably land him in handcuffs, and I hope this committee refers him for criminal charges.
...
HIGBIE: Dead to rights. Ellison is sitting there denying this whole conversation that he had. But it's on tape. This is worse than Bill Clinton debating what the meaning of the word is is. I mean, is this guy stupid? And Hawley just kept dropping transcripts.
...
HIGBIE: He's just reading it. What did Ellison think was going to happen here? I mean, I've seen enough, and apparently so has the good senator.
...
HIGBIE: Yup. Let's do that. In fact, let's bury this guy under the jail. I mean, this is a layup for the DOJ. Josh Hawley just laid everything out. This is what I want, OK? This is what I voted for. All these people in jail. I think this is what basically everybody who voted for Trump wanted. Arrest the people who steal our money and break our laws and think they're above it. Pam Bondi could totally redeem herself from yesterday. I would be her number one cheerleader if she went out there and indicted him tomorrow. You have a politician soliciting and being offered a donation on tape in exchange for dropping a fraud investigation that is the sole responsibility of his office. That turned out to be over $250 million stolen from his people. Not to mention that he let another $9 billion just get lit on fire and thrown out the door. Some of which ended up in Mogadishu. Lock him up.
