MERCEDES SCHLAPP (CO-HOST): Not missing the opportunity to turn tragedy into political leverage, Minnesota governor — who's a Democrat — Tim Walz is calling for an emergency legislation session on gun control. "It's time to take serious action at the State Capitol to address gun violence," this was posted on X. Walz doubling down, urging state legislatures at a special session to come together to do something on guns.

...

I don't know how anyone voted for that man. I swear he's such an idiot. But OK, no money for school security, but it's about the guns. I mean, this is the same playbook of the Democrats.

REAGAN REESE (WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT, THE DAILY CALLER): I know. It's absolutely unreal. And I think it's going to be up to the Trump administration to really lead the country out of this tragedy. We know that they're investigating all facets of this shooting, including gender ideology. And we've heard President Trump talk about it a lot, or a little bit. He told me he thinks the shooter was very troubled, not sure if gender ideology was at play. But one thing's for sure, I believe the FBI and the DOJ are going to get to the bottom of it.

JAMES KIMMEY (REPUBLICAN STRATEGIST): Yeah, I would just say that the problem isn't too many guns. It's the fact that these criminals don't face consequences. So maybe we should, you know, incentivize, or we need prosecutors who are actually going to enforce the law and put these people behind bars.

CHRIS PLANTE (HOST): I've been arguing for some time now that if you're a registered Democrat, you should be barred from gun ownership.

KIMMEY: That could work, too.
