ALEX SWOYER (GUEST): So, Chris, I'm going to go to you first. We know President Trump hates those windmills. He thinks they look terrible. And I will say driving through Iowa, my dad's home state, you see them everywhere. And they are kind of, you know -- they kind of don't look well with the landscape. They don't look like they quite fit. So is this was this a push to try to eliminate some of those windmills?
PLANTE: Well, it's windmills — have you know, they're an embarrassment invented in Persia and 700 A.D. And the Democrats think that they're the latest in energy. They're not the latest in energy. They're Cuisinarts in the sky. They turn eagles and hawks into, you know, into shredded former birds. They don't give us a lot of energy. They are a blight. And they're not economically viable either.
Look, we've got all kinds of sources of energy. And we don't have to go to Persia from the eighth century to adopt new forms of energy in the United States of America. But the Democrats oppose all known forms of energy in the 21st century. They don't like hydroelectric dams because of the fish. They don't like coal burning plants because they're afraid of smoke in the sky or something.
We need more smoke in the sky, it'll block the sun out. It'll cool the Earth and they'll feel better. They don't like nuclear energy, of course, which is clean, efficient, inexpensive, and, you know, hasn't killed anybody. You know, it's the old more people died in Ted Kennedy's car than died at Three Mile Island.
SWOYER: I guess they're not worried about the birds. Although I will say windmills do freeze, that's an issue there.
