Murdoch To Charge for Two British Newspaper Sites

News Corp., which already charges readers for online content of its Wall Street Journal, plans to expand the practice to two London dailies owned by the company.

“News Corp. said it will begin charging for the Web sites of British newspapers The Times and The Sunday Times, starting in June,” Marketwatch.com reports. “Both sites will be available for one pound ($1.48) a day, or two pounds a week.”

It later added: “The sites will come into existence in May, replacing the existing Times Online combined site. According to audit group ABC, Times Online had 1.04 million readers a day during December.”
