CHRIS MATTHEWS (HOST): I've watched them. They assume nobody knows anything so they say “secret meeting in the basement" and everybody knows, yeah, that's part of the truth. It was a secret meeting but half the people there were Republicans. There were a hundred people there. Yeah, there were no administration witnesses, That's because you wouldn't let them testify but that's the other part of the truth.

They know the Democrats and the anti-Trump people all know that. They don't care about them. They know that their own people don't care about what they say. So they're talking to people that are the low-information voters. They're talking to people who watch something else most of the time but are drawn to this topic, if they have been, and so they know they can get away with it. So I think the figure they have to rebut, the Democrats, I get the feeling they just say, “We don't have to bother with that, we’re going right to the lies." I’m sorry, we can't use that word anymore. You're just go right to the half-truths and those half-truths have been working for us with our people. You know?
