BOB BROOKS (HOST): Big news today. Joe, let's start with you on this. Todd Blanche, assuming the role, at least for now, as interim here. Your thoughts on that?

JOE DIGENOVA (GUEST): Well, Todd is a superb lawyer, very experienced. He has gravitas, which the Attorney General Bondi did not. He'll do very well actually. I think he would be a great attorney general. But unfortunately they want somebody with a name. And I hope Zeldin lives up to the promotion.

But this should have happened a long time ago. Pam Bondi was ineffective. Not only did she screw up the PR aspect of Epstein, but the substance of it as well. And it lingers on today because of her. None of this would have happened if she had known that. The problem with Pam Bondi was she wasn't qualified to be attorney general. I — by the way, I know it's very nice for people to say, isn't it pleasant that they're giving her a nice farewell and all of that? Bottom line for this, this is a disaster for the president. And the reason is the weaponization investigation cases in Florida have basically come to a standstill because Bondi got in the way of those investigations in Florida. They should have been far along. There should have been indictments by now. And because of her, there aren't any. That's why she's gone.

KATRINA SZISH (HOST): Vic, do you think that President Trump should have relieved her of this position even sooner?

DIGENOVA: Oh, absolutely. She should have been gone the minute she interfered in the Florida investigations. And I know that for a fact, because I was involved in that, I was going to be a prosecutor in that case, I was all ready to be hired to be the chief lead counsel. And Pam Bondi nixed it because she didn't want anybody with a name in the case. She has been a disaster from the beginning, and I say, good riddance.
