EMILY JASHINSKY: Jason in Florida, you're on the Megyn Kelly wrap up show. What's in your mind?

CALLER: Hi. Hi. Good afternoon. So I will tell you that I've been a Republican my entire life. I voted for Trump twice. I don't consider myself a MAGA Republican, but I do consider myself a conservative. And I think this comment that he made, this post reminds me a little bit of when Walter Cronkite made an announcement talking about the Vietnam War to the American people saying if we, you know, and Lyndon Johnson said if he if I lost Walter, I've lost the country. I really think that Trump's comment has just officially put that nail in the coffin of the people that were putting up with him because he was a Republican. I think it's gonna, I think he's lost the country. And I think that this is gonna be one of these subjects that are gonna come up when Republicans are campaigning in, next year for the midterms and in '28.

I think this is going to be one of those moments where people say that they're done. And I am done supporting this president not only because of this comment, but I'm in the retail sector, and his tariffs have decimated my industry. Decimated.

JASHINSKY: Interesting.

CALLER: So it's not just one thing. It's a culmination of a bunch of things. And, you know, I just think that he's ruined it. You know, he had the greatest opportunity to be one of the greatest presidents we've ever had. His first term, if you look at his policies and the way he conducted himself, he had his braggadocious and his ego and this and that, but this is completely different from his first term.

He's, like, I would have to say, like, off the rails. I mean, that's how I would describe it. You know? He's erratic. He makes terrible decisions. He posts very bad things. He calls people names, calls reporters fatty, and this I mean, this is just, you know, this is just not becoming of an American president. And I think this one was the icing on the cake for most people. They were sticking with him on certain things and saying, you know, making excuses. Now they're saying forget it. We're done. And I believe that's why all these callers that are calling in saying stuff like that, it's because they've had enough.

JASHINSKY: Jason in Florida, thank you for the call because, that's so saying, you know, it's the icing on the cake of all of these other problems that Jason feels like have accumulated over the course of the second Trump administration than to see him.

I just gotta say, I mean, we're not conducting a scientific poll here on the Megyn Kelly wrap up show, but the callers today, our phone lines have genuinely not lit up like this before. There's maybe one other example, but it wasn't even quite like this. And I think what it is is just that there's something about, the way Trump treated the death of Rob Reiner that has touched a nerve with people who love Rob Reiner and maybe to Jason's point are also just maybe disappointed in the second Trump administration. And this is not a scientific poll.

I just wanna say it's not a scientific poll. But what we got from our callers here on Sirius XM one eleven, the Megyn Kelly Channel, was just a lot of disappointment and frustration, and that was very, very interesting to hear. So I'm excited to keep this conversation going tomorrow. I mean, dark, dark, dark news cycle. But, you know, to think a bit about how Trump's reaction, is shaping the way, influencing the way people around the country see his presidency, that is super interesting.
