MARIA BARTIROMO (ANCHOR): Jim Jordan on Sunday, on Sunday Morning Futures, said he thinks that's the reason that the Democrats decided no witnesses in the impeachment trial, because somebody was going to ask Nancy Pelosi what she knew and when and why didn't -- she's overseeing the Capitol Police, why wasn't there more security in place?

MARK MEADOWS (FORMER WHITE HOUSE CHIEF-OF-STAFF): Well, Congressman Jim Jordan is right, as he normally is, and when you start to look at it, there were many assets that actually then-President Trump offered up, as many as 10,000 National Guard prior to January 6, and yet in typical fashion they said, “Oh, no, we can handle it. We don't want the look." 

Now, when it serves a political purpose, they want the look out there and I can tell you that it is time that we actually make sure that our cities and our states are indeed safe and indeed the Capitol is safe. But it's not time for a political statement and when we get to the bottom of all of this, my understanding is there's going to be another investigation on Capitol Hill. They'll probably keep it so that it spins a political narrative from their perspective but when the truth comes out, we'll see that indeed there were other decisions that could have been made by Speaker Pelosi and others that weren't made.
