Where Are Los Angeles Papers On Goldline Investigation?

Since ABC News broke the story yesterday that the Los Angeles County District Attorney is investigating Goldline International, the gold seller and Glenn Beck advertiser, for possible price mark-ups, the story has been picked up by numerous news outlets, from AOL News to LA Weekly.

But Los Angeles's two major newspapers have yet to post their own coverage of the probe.

The Los Angeles Daily News has no mention of the investigation on its website as of this morning, while the Los Angeles Times has only a small link on its Brand X blog, which takes readers to a Gawker story on the investigation.

A search on the Times main website does not even link to that item.

Asked about the lack of coverage, a Times spokesperson e-mailed: “ABC's Nightline broke this story and did a good job of it. We are keeping an eye on the investigations and will report as news developments warrant.”

Daily News editors have not yet responded to a request for comment.

Both newspapers, however, do provide Goldline ad links when a search is done on the company.
