BEN DOMENECH (CONTRIBUTOR): Unfortunately, we are in a circumstance here in Washington where there's a level of unseriousness when it comes to all of these fiscal issues that I think is really an indictment of our leadership class. I interviewed congressman Patrick McHenry who is the chair of the House Financial Services Committee the other day on my Fox podcast and I asked him, "What is the possible justification that there can be to taking entitlement reform, Medicare and social security off the table as opposed to talking about it given the cliff that it represents?" And his answer to me was simple, one word: Power. And I think that that's true. It is simply an indictment of a political class that is about power as opposed to responsibility.
