PASTOR ROBERT JEFFRESS: Well, I said that when it comes to terrorism, we need to understand the difference between our individual responsibility and the government's responsibility. Yes, as Christians, we're to love and forgive and pray. But government has a different responsibility. And that responsibility is to protect its citizens and secure the borders. You know, the government is never told in the Bible to turn the other cheek or to forgive. In Romans 13, the  Bible says government is. In Romans 13 the government says government is to be an instrument of wrath to bring retribution against those who do evil. I believe it is God's plan for government to go after ISIS and eradicate the evil of radical Islam.

GRETCHEN CARLSON (HOST): OK, so it brings us to the next topic of, you know, what do we do with these refugees? It's the Christian spirit to help, and so it becomes a very difficult question for those that want to help but are fearful?

JEFFRESS: Well, again, there's a difference between our individual responsibility and government's responsibility. Individually, we can support relief agencies like Samaritan's Purse and so forth, but what we can't do is allow people into our country we don't know. The government says we will properly vet them. Please give me a break. Do we believe this country will protect us from an enemy they're unwilling to identify? Radical Islamic terrorists. How are they gonna vet these refugees if they don't even know who the enemy is? And so I say, as Christians, let's individually do what we can but let's say no to immigration and refugees until government starts performing its God-given responsibility of securing the borders.
