STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): Speaking of a lot going on, this is completely unrelated. According to the federal government, the new unemployment rate in the United States has fallen to 4.5 percent. Good News.

AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): That's good news.

PETE HEGSETH (CO-HOST): Wow, that is great news.

DOOCY: It says, "hiring slowed sharply in March with just 98,000 new jobs --


EARHARDT: You mentioned this earlier--

DOOCY: but the new unemployment rate: 4.5.

EARHARDT: That reminds me of something you talked about during commercial break. It's going to be interesting to see what the favorability monitors--


DOOCY: The president's approval rating.

EARHARDT: [What his] approval rating looks like in a week.

DOOCY: Probably going to go up.

HEGSETH: Well yeah, and that's not why you do anything like this, but if you show decisive leadership people appreciate that. If jobs are coming back, you're nominating a Supreme Court justice that will be confirmed today, that's progress.

DOOCY: Today could be the most successful day thus far of the Trump presidency.
