BRANDON TATUM (TURNING POINT USA): When you look at sacrifice, as a police officer, I did a lot of sacrificing. When I look at what he did, he opted out of a multi-million dollar contract to go work for another company and make millions of dollars. I don't see where the sacrifice is at. Pat Tillman, Glen Coffee, those were NFL players that walked away from the NFL to go serve this country and put their lives on the line. Pat Tillman lost his life. To me, it's very simple, that's sacrifice. When you're risking your life, and you're doing it for other people, that's sacrifice.
BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): He feels as though minorities get an unfair shake when it comes to our justice system and law enforcement. Is that true?
TATUM: Well, let me tell you this -- let me tell you where the unfair shake comes in at. When you are 7,000 people that have been murdered -- and then you're murdered by other black people at 90 percent, that seems to be unjustice. When you go and you have abortions more than you're giving birth that's unjustice. Those things are committed by our own people, and I think that Colin Kaepernick should be focusing on those things. We need to look at what’s going on in our own household first and then we can go and look at outside sources.
It is a myth that police are brutalizing black people at some epidemic rate. When you look at the number I just mentioned, in 2015, it was 7,000 black people that lost their lives and .003 percent of those black people were killed by police officers -- who were unarmed. Anybody with a brain stem understands that just because you're unarmed don’t mean that deadly force isn't authorized to be used against you, but for the sake of argument, if all of the people who were killed unarmed was unjustified, that's still a very small amount of African-American people who are dying. We have more pressing issues to take care of and I think we should look at those things first and prioritize those things. At minimum, we should mention those things alongside of the things that Colin Kaepernick is trying to bring up.
