Fox News White House correspondent: “The president obviously never mentioned the congressman's race”

Kevin Corke: “The president obviously never mentioned the congressman's race, nor did he mention race in any of the tweets that he had about the congressman or the city of Baltimore”

From the July 30 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends:

BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): Kevin Corke is live in Jamestown, which is a wonderful place to visit, but with what we should and shouldn't expect to see at the president's speech today. Hey, Kevin.

KEVIN CORKE (WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT): Good to be with you, guys. We're going to talk a bit about that in just a moment. But first, I remind you that this is all happening amid back and forth between the president and Maryland Democrat congressman Elijah Cummings. And now it's actually spread, this back and forth about the city of Baltimore. Let me take you to Twitter. I'm going to share this tweet that the president put out. He's been sort of talking about the problems in Baltimore. And boy, the folks at home will find this one pretty interesting. He said, “Baltimore's numbers are the worst in the U.S. on crime and the economy. Billions of dollars have been pumped in over the years, but to no avail. The money was stolen or wasted. Ask Elijah Cummings where it went. He should investigate himself with his Oversight Committee.” A little back and forth on that. Here's Al Sharpton talking about the president's back and forth with the congressman.

REV. AL SHARPTON (NATIONAL ACTION NETWORK): He has a particular venom for Blacks and people of color. He doesn't refer to any of his other opponents or critics as infested.

[END CLIP]

CORKE: Interesting. The president obviously never mentioned the congressman's race, nor did he mention race in any of the tweets that he had about the congressman or the city of Baltimore.
