Fox & Friends host accuses Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of advocating for “civilizational suicide”

Pete Hegseth: “When you stop believing in your own country, and your own values, and free market economics, you give up what made you special in the first place.”

From the February 26 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends:

Video file

PETE HEGSETH (GUEST CO-HOST): We learned about a new cost, it's apparently kids, you shouldn't have them. Now Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, she likes to put out videos on the internet while cooking where she talks stream of consciousness, which is a good way to find out how people really feel. This is her yesterday talking about climate change and your kids. Listen.

[BEGIN CLIP]

REP. ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ (D-NY): Our planet is going to be a disaster if we don't turn this ship around. And so it's basically like, there's scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult and it does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate question, you know, should -- Is it OK to still have children?

[END CLIP]

...

HEGSETH: Considering our economy is $20 trillion, what they're attempting to do would bankrupt it. And if you listen to watch she has to say, she's saying don't have kids because it's going to hurt our country. So if you don't believe in kids, and families, and the flag, you're effectively admitting to civilizational suicide. No really, she is saying don't have kids, because it's World War II and we're not going to be around in 10 years. When you stop believing in your own country, and your own values, and free market economics, you give up what made you special in the first place. She is the clear view of what the left believes today.
