BILL O'REILLY: Now, the other questions I thought they were good, they were pithy. They didn't go on and on like the CNBC and the CNN moderators go on and on and on and on. But as I pointed out earlier in the program, when a Donald Trump says and a Ted Cruz says “Hey, we're going to deport everybody,” they can't. The courts would block it. And I think the moderator almost has to shut it down at that point and go, look, that's not  going to happen. The federal courts are never going to allow authorities to go in and drag people out of their houses and deported. They're going to litigate it forever and everybody know that's true.

BERNIE GOLDBERG: Right, well, the Republican audience -- let me put it this way. Being reasonable and being smart on these issues isn't necessarily the thing you want to be during this campaign cycle. Donald Trump is --

O'REILLY: Well I think the moderators have an obligation to put things into perspective.

GOLDBERG:  Yes, the moderators could have said that and perhaps should have said that.
