So they keep saying "one of these days it's going to kill us" and the other side goes, "you say that every year and every year we're fine, we wake up here and everything's OK," and the Republicans point to long-term consequences from debt and deficit, and every -- now both parties in Washington go "eh, whatever. Nothing bad happened today." One of the great challenges in public life and political life is rallying people. When we celebrated, this summer, the moon launch, the mission to the moon, what we were really celebrating was something America can't do anymore. Which is, "here's something a decade away. I want to work together, party and party, person and person, American and American to solve a problem and make this thing happen." We don't do that anymore.
