BENNY JOHNSON (HOST): Jimmy Kimmel is a shit human being for making a disgusting joke about assassinating the president, doubling down on a joke instead of doing the decent thing and apologizing. ABC needs to fire him immediately and should be, shunned for the rest of his life. OK.
Well, they're not going to do that because we showed weakness. Because when we could have united and gotten Jimmy Kimmel fired, we didn't. And people on our own side decided to use it as an opportunity to get a pat on the head from libs, corporate media libs, and to get a little doggy treat, and to be sent on their way so that Jimmy Kimmel could do this to us all over again. We were right, though they were wrong. Don't show weakness in these moments.
And this would be my big request to the Trump administration. There are ways that you can hurt ABC. There are deals that they're trying to get through, antitrust. There are mergers, acquisitions. There's broadcast licenses that you can go in and you can take from ABC. And I'll say it again, and it's the last time I'll say it. I don't care. I'm not trying to cut Jimmy Kimmel's proverbial tongue out.
...
I mean, listen, try uploading something on YouTube and then calling for the death of first lady or her husband. It won't work. It'll be against the terms of service. You'll get your account deleted. So you — like, you couldn't even get away with this stuff on social media quite frankly. But I'm not against Jimmy Kimmel's right to speak, and I like an offensive joke. I really do. We play them on the show all day and night.
What I am against is paying for this man to constantly agitate and make fun of the assassinations of my friends, my president, his family, and that's what he's doing, and I'm paying for it. I'm forced at the end of a gun to pay for the broadcast license for ABC News because I'm an American taxpayer. So that is what I'm against, and that is what I'm going to fight. And that is why this should be repulsive to you. Jimmy Kimmel should be allowed to stand on the street corner as he often does actually, like this photo during a No Kings rally. Jimmy Kimmel should have every right to stand on the street corner, looking literally like a hungover degenerate homeless man, and hold up his little handmade sign and scream at the top of his lungs. That's free speech. It's not free speech that the American taxpayer at the force of a gun will be made to subsidize your programming attacking our friends and killing us. So that is a distinction in kind, and I think it is absolutely critically important.
