Dear ABC News, what about these two logos “look oddly similar?”

Call me crazy, but I just can't see how these two logos “look oddly similar”:

Obama logorecovery logo

Yet, that is exactly how an ABC News.com article described them:

The Recovery Act logo which was provided not only looks oddly similar to the Obama logo from the 2008 campaign but its stated purpose, according to the document, is to act as “a symbol of President Obama's commitment to the American people to invest their tax dollars wisely and put Americans back to work.”

I guess if by “oddly similar” they mean they're both circles, then I might get it. What “looks oddly similar” to me is the bizarre tendency among various media figures to see a resemblance to Obama's campaign logo in just about anything that is round. We've had media figures--mainly right-wing media figures--see shades of Obama's campaign logo lurking in the Missile Defense Agency's new logo and even the World Cup soccer ball.
