Fox's Katie Pavlich says mass shootings in Parkland and Charleston were the result of “government not doing its job”

Pavlich: “Parkland is perfect example of that -- government failed at every single level, the local school district level, the local sheriff level, and the federal government level”

AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Senator Kamala Harris says that she will put major gun control in place if she gets elected, no matter what Congress decides.

...

EARHARDT: Think about all those voters, those voters that have guns, and they do do it, they hunt as a sport, they teach their sons how to hunt and bring the meat home, and those men and those women that want to have guns to protect their families in case someone breaks in their house. And she's telling them I'm going to take away those rights. That's not something they want to hear.

KATIE PAVLICH (FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR): And she's doing it in a way that convicts them of a crime that they have not committed. And so she's saying that they are the problem. The reason why we're talking about gun control in a political sense is because we have seen these mass shootings, which are absolutely horrific and awful, but if you actually look at the facts of these cases, it is the federal government and the local government failing, and they're using Second Amendment rights and law-abiding Americans as a scapegoat for it. Parkland is a perfect example of that -- government failed at every single level, the local school district level, the local sheriff level, and the federal government level. When we saw the church shooting in South Carolina with Dylann Roof -- he wasn't supposed to be able to pass a background check and yet he did, he slipped through the cracks in the FBI background check system. So instead of focusing on people who are obeying the law, you need to fix the problems that are already in the system of the government not doing it's job to prevent these things from happening.
