STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): Ambassador, on the front page of foxnews.com right now there is a story that apparently the intel community has picked up anti-ship cruise missiles were being loaded onto a patrol boat or patrol boats in North Korea. What can you tell us about that?

NIKKI HALEY: I can't.

DOOCY: Why?

HALEY: I can't talk about anything that's classified. And if that's in the newspaper that's a shame. But --

DOOCY: You have no reason to believe that's not accurate though?

HALEY: I have no reason to comment on it.

DOOCY: OK.

AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): That shouldn't be in the newspaper? Is that another leak I guess?

HALEY: You know, it's one of these things, I don't know what's going on. But, I will tell you it's incredibly dangerous when things get out into the press like that. You are not only just getting a scoop on something, you are playing with people's lives. And this has got to stop. Whatever the leaks are coming from, if somebody thinks they are getting power or fame from it, all you are doing is putting Americans in danger.

On CNN's New Day, host Chris Cuomo and guest Michael Hayden, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, criticized Trump for tweeting out “something that comes from U.S. intel.” From the August 8 edition of CNN's New Day:
 

CHRIS CUOMO (CO-HOST): So then there's another aspect that comes out today that is kind of a reflection of our bizarre new political reality. The president retweets an article from Fox about intelligence from the U.S. government that spy satellites detected North Korea moving anti-ship cruise missiles to a patrol boat. We haven't been able to confirm this, it's just a Fox News report, but the president retweeted it. Isn't that odd? Why would the president retweet a Fox article about something that comes from U.S. intel? Wouldn't -- you know what I mean? Wouldn't he know whether or not this is a reality without getting it from Fox News?

MICHAEL HAYDEN: Yeah, that is most unusual to have the president do that sort of thing. Chris, I mean, look, it's an echo of what happened in February, when he retweeted, appears to have retweeted, accusations that President Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower. He's the president. He can get the answer with a phone call. The same -- the same with this. So I'm not sure what that adds to the body of human knowledge on what the North Koreans are doing.
