ERIC SHAWN (HOST): Well back here at home there's some accusations of wasteful spending in Washington. Think that's new? Not at all. It's outlined in what's called the Pig Book, the annual report from a public interest group that explores how it says government wastes all our money on pork barrel project. This year it found earmarks they say up 17 percent. Total cost topping out at $5.1 billion. That happens to be a 21 percent increase from last year. Does it ever go down? Thomas Schatz is president of Citizens Against Government Waste, the watchdog group that is behind the Pig Book. Thomas, good to see you. So last year we had the famous shrimp on the treadmill study. There it goes. There goes the little guy. This thing costs over a number of years three million dollars, they say, in taxpayer money. And this absurdity, I mean, continues now?
