Newsmax's Greg Kelly on oil prices: “It's going to go up, but we can handle that”

GREG KELLY (HOST): Is this really bothering the American people right now? Are they upset? Are they perturbed? Are they on the edge of their seat? What's happening in America right now? What's the mood out there? What are people talking about? What do you think? No. I think they're talking about what's for dinner. They're not particularly worried about the Iran situation, are they? Are you? I personally am not. Now I know gas prices could be a thing at some point, but, this war, it's under control. It's not even a war. This is not full-scale combat. We don't have boots on the ground or anything like that.
You know, a lot of people are fake hyperventilating about this war, and they were kind of like ho-hum about the 20 year forever war in Afghanistan. Remember that one? 20 years, no end in sight, and it just was, like, happening. It was background noise. Bush, Obama, it didn't really matter. Just on and on it went. What about the Iraq war? Eight years. On and on it went, and nobody seemed responsible for that, really. Alright, Vietnam, we can't say that that was ho-hum. People were upset about that thing, especially in the 60s and early 70s. But compare that to our situation right now in the Persian Gulf. How long has this been going on? Oh, Ukraine. Ukraine is a war that people seem to be content with that thing just going on and on and on. President Trump would like peace. Nobody else seems to be pushing it.
So that brings me back brings us back to the Strait of Hormuz and Iran. How long has this been going on? If you add it all up, four months. Four months compared to the forever war, compared to all that stuff. But it actually isn't four months. For the number of days we've been bombing, it's much, much less. 39 days of real intense, what they call kinetic operations when we're dropping bombs. We don't have boots on the ground. A lot of people hopes it stays that way. We'll see. Yes. When you start hostilities again, it means that there's going to be some market turmoil. Right?

KELLY: Boom. Boom. Boom. Yes. They always want you. I remember this as a little kid. Boy, the news guy really — you know, it's everything seems so terrible all the time. And my dad told me, this has got to be in 1976. They want you to feel that way. They want you to think the world is on fire all the time to get you worried, to get you hooked.
Let's review the oil situation. OK? Oil. Alright? Show me the numbers. 2022 peak was a 119 per barrel, and Joe Biden was the president, and it wasn't a big deal. Let's look at more recent numbers. The peak of this conflict, 112 on April 7. That was right in the middle of this thing. And where are they right now? Right now, please? 74. 74.
Now, it's probably going to go up. It's going to go up, but we can handle that. We've seen it go up before. And, again, these are light years away — well, not light years, but far short of Biden numbers. Right?
