NRATV host compares gun-purchase age limits to racial and gender discrimination

Grant Stinchfield: “It is still discriminatory”

GRANT STINCHFIELD (HOST): Dick’s Sporting Goods and Walmart are companies that presumably have made millions off of gun owners in America. Both have decided to stick it to the very people they profit off of. In many respects, their cave to anti-gun forces is actually a sham. They now say they will no longer be selling firearms to anyone under the age of 21. My assumption is that is actually a small portion of gun owners that amounts to a very small fraction of overall gun sales for those [retailers]. Yet it is still discriminatory. So in the end, Dick’s and Walmart’s big announcement is actually a tiny ploy to appease anti-gunners. But in the process, it has ticked off gun owners. A group that had been loyal to these retailers now feels like they’ve been slapped in the face. I believe gun owners will respond by not buying their guns from Dick’s or Walmart anymore. Not just young adults, but everyone. Dick’s and Walmart need to consider something else too: As they try to dupe social justice warriors, they may actually be breaking discrimination laws. Look, it’s legal to sell long guns to law abiding citizens over the age of 18. It's federal law, in fact. By arbitrarily deciding they aren’t going to sell guns to anyone under the age of 21, they have just created a special class of people that they are discriminating against. Imagine if Dick’s arbitrarily decided it wasn’t a good idea to sell guns to minorities. Because a few of those minorities are in gangs, very violent gangs, and they commit crimes, we can’t sell to minorities anymore. Or maybe no longer is it OK to sell to [women]. Because some executive says you know what, they’re just not capable of handling guns. There would be outrage in the streets.
