GREG KELLY (HOST): I'm a big fan of Maria Bartiromo, have been for a very long time. In my opinion, she is stellar.
...
Most fascinatingly, she was considered by President Trump in 2024 to be his vice president — yes, made the shortlist for Trump's vice president in 2024. Very few people are aware of that but it is true. In a perfect world, I think President Trump would have gone with Maria Bartiromo — not that he doesn't like J.D. Vance.
...
Maria's boss is a man named Rupert Murdoch. Who is an associate, I don't know if they're friends, of President Trump. He's a billionaire. He's very, very successful, and he has employed a hell of lot of people, including me at one time, and anybody who creates jobs, that's to be respected.
But billionaires, sometimes there's a bit of a rivalry, right? They — maybe Rupert deep down thinks he should be the president. Can't be, he's from Australia, born there. Take a look at this in the Oval Office. I've been to the Oval Office, I'm tickled when I'm there. You see Rupert sitting in that chair? That's him all the way over there, does he look happy? No, no he doesn't. He looks like, I should be sitting in that chair, who is this? Right?
It's something between the billionaires, that's my sense. Anyway, we'll see what happens next for Maria Bartiromo. Maybe we'll get the whole story, maybe we won't, but congratulations. An amazing run and I am sure she's not finished.
