ROB FINNERTY (HOST): And I love when I hear people like Jake Tapper, who has literally become the Finnerty show hologram for everything that's wrong with the legacy media, but I love when I hear the experts, the prognosticators, the real journalists like Jake Tapper say that MAGA is dead. Heard it all day today. Heard it all day yesterday. We hear it all the time from the right as well. But think about that. I wonder how Thomas Massie feels about that tonight or Bill Cassidy. How'd that work out for them? Not great. I'm not trying to be mean. I'm being honest. It did not work out well for those two gentlemen because Thomas Massie just lost in a landslide in a district that he's represented for 14 years to a guy who's never held elected office. Think about that. A district that he won with 75% of the vote not that long ago. And impeachment-voting Bill Cassidy was just humiliated in a runoff in a state that he's represented in the Senate for the last 12 years. Think about that.
Five of the seven Republican senators who voted to impeach Donald Trump in 2021 are gone. Eight of the 10 Republicans in Congress who voted to impeach Donald Trump in 2021 are gone. What's Liz Cheney doing right now? Seriously, I'd like to know. All of the Indiana state senators who opposed Donald Trump on May 5, they all lost. In the last 10 years, Donald Trump now has a 95% endorsement rate. George Bush, Dick Cheney, Mitt Romney, Mike Pence, they are all now politically irrelevant because MAGA is definitely not dead, and making America great again should not be controversial.
And by the way, this is important, but Democrats would never pull this crap, would they? Do you remember all those Democrats who voted against Joe Biden? Was he — when he was president? I don't — because it never happened because Democrats would not do that.
Oh, Republicans are independent. Stop being independent.
Someone asked me yesterday why Donald Trump does not like Thomas Massie. It's simple. Here's the reason. Years ago, Massie would vote with Republicans 95% of the time, which is common. Last year, he voted with Republicans 75% of the time, which means that he voted against his own party one out of every four times. And he didn't vote for the Big Beautiful Bill for whatever reason, but the Big Beautiful Bill was Donald Trump's signature bill, like marquee legislation. And when a president from your own party runs on doing something, then gets elected to do it, generally speaking, you vote for it, but not if you're Thomas Massie. And when you've got a three vote margin in the House — nobody ever mentions that. When you've got a three vote margin in the house, which is what Republicans have right now, and someone in your own party is voting against you on, like, a weekly basis, eventually, that's going to start to bother you. Donald Trump's only human.
