LIDIA CURANAJ (HOST): When are criminals going to learn that when you f around, you're going to find out the hard way? A 26-year-old illegal alien from Colombia was shot and killed by an ICE agent as officers attempted to arrest him. Now, in a statement, the Department of Homeland Security says that ICE agents were conducting a vehicle stop when the illegal attempted to flee. And then fearing for public safety, the officer then discharged his weapon. Now, in response, the Trump administration is changing its policy and ordering ICE agents to suspend all vehicle stops.
So let's get this straight -- a vehicle is now a safe haven for an illegal alien. If you or I drive over the speed limit, say, just, what? 10 miles, cops can pull us over. But a person who is in this country illegally, perhaps even convicted of killing, raping, and robbing, all they have to do is jump in their car and an ICE agent can't do anything about it. Oh, here's an ICE agent who are coming to arrest me. Let me just lock the doors and drive away. Right? President Trump was given a mandate by almost 80 million Americans to do this, to launch this massive deportation effort. And now the administration is limiting what these agents can lawfully do. We were promised the greatest deportation effort ever. And now it feels like we're bending the knee to the left. ICE agents aren't operating from behind a desk. They're on the front lines. They're making these split-second life-altering decisions. And eliminating the one of the tools that ICE agents use to protect us, it doesn't solve a problem. It creates an even bigger one.
