BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): Chaos in Philadelphia: 30 officers hurt, more than 30 people arrested after riots overnight.

STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): The violence erupting after police shot and killed a man who they said was armed with a knife and would not put it down.

...

DOOCY: So 30 police officers have been injured overnight in the rioting that ensued after this man was shot. We should point out the local Philly -- NBC Philly affiliate said that at the time, his mother was trying to restrain him but he would not drop the gun, shot multiple times.

KILMEADE: Knife, right?

AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): The knife, right.

DOOCY: He was shot multiple times. The police shot him multiple times. He had -- right, exactly. He had a knife. Would not drop it. So nonetheless, an investigation today to try to figure out what the heck happened.

EARHARDT: Yeah, so he is 27-years-old, the suspect, his dad says, said he had mental health issues and he was taking medication. The dad, to Darrin Porcher's point, the dad said why didn't they just use a taser and as Darrin, who is a former NYPD lieutenant said, the officers, when you watched the video, didn't really have much time or space to react. Another officer was on Fox & Friends First and said if you use a taser, same thing as Darrin said, and said if you shoot in the air it could hit someone else. If you shoot the suspect in the leg, it could hit an artery and he could die or the suspect could still get up and react and hurt the officers.
