GREG KELLY (HOST): Counselor to the president, Peter Navarro — the man is MAGA royalty. Totally brilliant, PhD. He's also a guy who just follows the truth. He doesn't let prevailing conventional wisdom get in the way. No, the man is brave. He has been arrested, right, for his integrity. Remember that whole fiasco about January 6? Whether it was COVID or trade, he's made great, great points about election integrity. The man is a hero, OK?

...

Folks, I got to tell you, I'm usually in a listening mode. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, had a chip on my shoulder that night. I don't know what, but I was interrupting. Folks who watch this show know I don't like to interrupt. But I did. And maybe I got it in my head, oh, well, Peter, maybe, did he leak something? No, he didn't leak anything. He was spot on, and I was out of line.

...

I wanted to kind of clear this up, and I also wanted to — why am I clearing it up? Well, September 11. This is the 25th anniversary, right? And who out there can procrastinate, right? I'm the worst. I tell you, I can get things done that are super duper important, that must be done, deadlines and all that stuff.

But when it came time to apologizing to Peter Navarro, right, I got it in my head, first of all, well, wait a second, I don't have to, I, you know [unintelligible] — I don't know. I had to apologize. I saw a tweet from somebody and they said, wow, it's really nice that Peter Navarro let Greg Kelly talk. It's supposed to be the other way around. So also I noticed the thing that a lot of us have — I know I have. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. I'll write him a letter. I'll send him a book. I will — and it becomes this whole thing. And it becomes another way of not doing what you have to do. Apologizing. And I apologized to Peter Navarro, and it was my fault. He didn't deserve that, and it felt good to apologize. And it felt even better when he accepted my apology.
