GREG KELLY (HOST): So, political enemies, political enemies. What — does that make you special? It really doesn't. It doesn't. The Constitution has a few things to say about all of this stuff, and it has a lot to say about the president's power. And the Department of Justice, they think they're very, very special. Right? The Department of Justice. Have you ever heard them talk about themselves, like, as if they are, I don't know, better than everybody else, as if they're their own branch of government?
...
KELLY: It sounds wholesome in a way. Right? The people's lawyer, the people's lawyer. No. The Department of Justice is a component within the executive branch. The executive branch. You guys are not independent. You're not. You shouldn't be. This is a fiction, post-Watergate fiction, and it's gone into hyperdrive with President Trump. President Trump.
The executive branch is President Trump. 77.3 million votes in the 2024 election makes him the executive branch of government. This is a building. It's the Department of Justice. It's part of the executive branch. The people who work there are employees of the executive branch. And let's pretend they all quit. They all quit. They just walked out. All those career prosecutors, if they quit, and let's say all of the good guys suddenly got sick or the CIA poisoned them and nobody could come to work. President Trump, according to the Constitution, could actually walk in to a courtroom and submit paperwork saying, I believe this guy is guilty, and this is my affidavit. It's — there's nothing wrong with that. It is — now, they have regulations, and they have their customs, and they have their norms, but you can't find norms in the Constitution. It's the Constitution, baby, and he's on solid ground.
And E. Jean Carroll, you're never going see a lick of that money, and I think you're going see prison.
