DAREN BOBB (ANCHOR): Greg Carman is president of Carman Inc., a small trucking firm based in Fort Smith that his parents began in 1985. They run 45 trucks mainly throughout the Midwest.

GREG CARMAN (CARMAN INC PRESIDENT): We buy about 17,000 gallons a week of diesel fuel and it's really — the bottom line is it's basically almost doubled in price. It went from around three, over $3 a gallon. We're paying somewhere, someplace in the Upper Midwest, about $7 a gallon.

BOBB: Carman says as much as he hates it, he says he really has no choice but to pass on any increased costs.

CARMAN: None of us like it, but it's just, it's — and hey, I'm a consumer too. I'll go and, you know, a loaf of bread or something, it's not going to be the same coming through this. We've got to pass the cost along and it's tough.
