Fox News

Right-wing cable channel founded in 1996 by Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes and owned by Fox Corporation

Fox News serves as a propaganda outlet for Republicans and declared itself the “voice of the opposition” during Democratic President Barack Obama's administration. During the Trump administration, many hosts and commentators are openly pro-Trump and some serve as unofficial presidential advisers. Many former Fox figures have been hired into high profile roles in the Trump administration. Numerous sexual harassment and sexual assault scandals led to the ouster of its founder and former chairman and CEO Roger Ailes for his serial sexual harassment against employees, the firing of former hosts Bill O'Reilly and Eric Bolling, and others like former co-president Bill Shine leaving. The network has been rocked by mass advertiser exoduses, with Fox News’ ad chief blaming Media Matters and activists for making advertisers uncomfortable with sponsoring certain content. Still, the network shows no signs of departing from its current model of dangerous, bigoted, and inflammatory rhetoric, making it even more undesirable for advertisers.
