Fox host Brian Kilmeade on Robert E. Lee: “I’m not going to judge him”

BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): I'm not necessarily into seeing Robert E. Lee's statue back. He made a choice and it was the wrong choice, and if you read his biography in his own words, he didn't want a statue. You know, his house overlooked Arlington Cemetery, and his army put a lot of Americans in there, and he didn't feel as though he was fighting, by his quotes, fighting to keep slavery. He felt as though he was fighting for Virginia and the values, and he was linked to Washington. But he was asked to run the northern army by Lincoln and he chose the South.
I don't think he should get a statue. I'm not going to judge him, but I don't think -- I think that's a different category than when you take Teddy Roosevelt out of the Museum of Natural History, or you take Lincoln's name off a school.
