MARTHA MACCALLUM (HOST): You talk about, obviously there's a lot of changes, Gen. General Dunford is out, [Gen Mark] Milley is in. Your name has been mentioned. I will ask you if you would ever consider taking this post, if it was offered to you, to be the secretary of defense?

JACK KEANE (FOX NEWS SENIOR STRATEGIC ANALYST): I have no plans to go back into public service, Martha.

MACCALLUM: And that's final?

KEANE: That's final.

MACCALLUM:  General, thank you very much. I know you feel very strongly and have always felt strongly about what a great person Gen. Mattis was in the mix for this president, and that he will be missed.
