Two hours after Fox News’ Andrew Napolitano suggested former Attorney General Loretta Lynch “made law enforcement decisions for political purposes” regarding the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email, President Donald Trump echoed the phrase in a tweet accusing her of breaking the law. In his tweet, Trump claimed that Lynch “gave Hillary Clinton a free pass and protection,” alleging that her actions were “Totally illegal!” Earlier this month, Trump repeated another claim Napolitano made on Fox & Friends in a tweet, claiming that “The big story is the ‘unmasking and surveillance’ of people that took place during the Obama Administration.”
From the June 13 edition of Fox & Friends:
ANDREW NAPOLITANO: [Former FBI Director James Comey] was convinced that she as the chief federal law enforcement officer of the land was doing the bidding of the Democratic National Committee and Hillary and Bill Clinton. If Mrs. Lynch, Attorney General Lynch, made law enforcement decisions for political purposes, that's called misconduct in office. And Jeff Sessions, the present Justice Department, should investigate her for that.
NAPOLITANO: I do believe that Loretta Lynch is in a lot of hot water.
STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): Because she was trying to influence the American presidential election?
A.G. Lynch made law enforcement decisions for political purposes...gave Hillary Clinton a free pass and protection. Totally illegal!
