Fox host: The United Nations is “nothing but a anti-American, anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic cesspool”

Pete Hegseth: “They pass resolutions all day long that have no enforcement mechanism, and yet we have to pretend like they matter?”

PETE HEGSETH (CO-HOST, FOX & FRIENDS WEEKEND): God bless Nikki Haley and the voice she brings to the U.N., which is effectively President Trump's voice as well, to say all you're doing here is trying to condemn the U.S. And these 128 countries, you know who two of them were? Iraq and Afghanistan. The very countries that we've poured our blood and treasure into then vote against us; it's a demonstration of what the U.N. has become, which is nothing but a anti-American, anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic cesspool. It really is. It used to have a function that served our interests. Now it only serves for other countries to condemn us and the West. I don't see -- I know we need to have a seat at the table, but it rarely serves us, and we should look to draw back where we can.

[...]

HEGSETH: I think this administration has a great opportunity to rethink our entire relationship with the so-called “international community” that wants any lever against us as opposed to being a good-faith member of the community.

AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): I understand I guess they don't want to vote because it's a peace measure, they're saying this isn't going to bring world peace or whatever.

BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): That doesn't mean anything.

EARHARDT: Yeah, does it mean anything? Should we even care?

HEGSETH: We should care though. It doesn't mean anything. It's a symbolic slap to President Trump, that's what it is. But we -- I love the way they said it: We're going to remember where you voted at this moment.

KILMEADE: But do you think we have to take some money back or do something besides that speech?

HEGSETH: Yes. Yes. I think we should pull out of the UN, this is what I would -- we form our own league of democracies of like-minded countries and work together.
